Monsoon thunderstorms of late summer often send flash floods boiling through the side-canyons of the Escalante River and leave small pools in their wake. As the heat evaporates these pools, the mud on the bottom eventually cracks as the clay dries out and shrinks. These beautiful abstract patterns usually don’t last long in the popular canyons along the Escalante River as they crumble beneath the boots of hikers or the hooves of cows, but here in this seldom-visited tributary canyon of Harris Wash, they remain untrammeled.

Canvas-Mounted Prints – Your canvas print will arrive fully finished and ready to hang on your wall. We print directly onto museum-quality canvas using an ink-jet printer. The canvas is then laminated with a protective coating and mounted onto wood stretcher bars with a mirrored border wrapping around the sides of the bars. Your print will have sawtooth hanger strips, bumpers on each corner, and an open back.
